Ling Young's story affected me the most. This is because the event she went through affected her in both a physical and mental way. The physical affect on her was severe. She was burned on the right side of her face and her right arm. When talking about her experience in the tower, she described her recovery from the initiate impact as ""I cleaned off my glasses very carefully, and I put it back on and I look around. I see nothing but people laying down." Those people "laying down" were most likely dead and that alone is a horrifying thing to live through. She was also affected mentally because during her recovery from the burn injuries, she mentioned "I am hopeless." She was losing hope because her surgeries were not working. The reason her story stood out to me because, even after those physical and mental injuries, she recovered somewhat well, and had a better attitude and outlook on life. And that is the most important thing.
I really liked the time-lapse in the film. It allowed the viewer to really understand the stories. It showed how people recover from and even how people dwell on certain things.
By far, the most important thing I learned from this film is to always remember to love and appreciate what you have. Also, just like Young, you have to remember to have a good attitude and outlook on life.
I found her story to be amazing. During the first few years after 9/11, she was hopeless with her burns but later found the hope and had a positive outlook which was really touching.
ReplyDeleteHer story is so inspiring because it shows that everyone goes through obstacles, some harder than others but she was still positive throughout the whole process.
ReplyDeleteI loved her story most because at the end she was constantly joking about her injuries, which shows how she came to accept what had happened to her.
