The story that affected me the most was the firefighter and his captain. The reason it affected me the most is because how guilty the guy felt for 7 years, and then he finally gets over his guilt.
"It took me seven years to get rid of that...guilt" (may not be the exact words)
This was definately a strength to show how to progressed over 8 years because it showed how each person was effected and then what came out of that. It showed how they resolved those issues, who helped them get through this, and how deeply it effected them. That you need to at least have a mourning time (a time where you don't move on so you can grief), not just for yourself but for your family, in order to help them get through this to, you cant just immediately move on.
The firefighter was my second choice for which story affected me the most. The guilt that he felt was really powerful and I remember that he said "I should have died up there with them."
ReplyDeleteHe went through hard time but in the head he finally realized there wasn't anything he could do that would have saved his friend from dying. Awesome post!
ReplyDeleteHe was also the person the affected me the most and I think his recovery period was one of the biggest things that impacted me as well. Also how he had to lose him in the building next to him and get reminded of him with the recordings of the people talking.
ReplyDeleteI felt bad for the firefighter because he felt so guilty for what happened even though he couldn't have done anything that would have saved him. It took him along time to get over that subject but once he did he could go on and continue his life.
ReplyDeleteThe firefighter might be one of the saddest stories in the film because he could've and wanted to die. Instead his captain died and he regrets not going up with him.
ReplyDeleteit was incredible how long it took him to move on, and it shows how much loss can affect us, and others. I think having survivors guilt definitely made it harder for him to move on, but its great to see him find some closure after 7 years.
