Education

I learn best by doing things myself, I am a visual person, it's a lot harder for me to learn when I'm just listening to someone teach. I have to be taking notes that they gave me, like one of my old teachers suggested that we print out the notes before we get to class so you don't have to take them during class, but I like taking the notes because when I'm writing them down I remember them easier than just reading them. And I did really well in that class.
I think the purpose of getting an education is to be able to provide for yourself and your family when you get a good career. And if you don't get a good education then you will have a lot bigger problem when trying to get a job.
To me education is very important for me and my future but right now I'm still not exactly sure what I want to do, and I'm not sure if there is such a job that I would like to do because I'm not sure what I'm interested in, so I'm trying to explore that by taking engineering because I really want to do something in math, I think.

  1. I am a visual learner right with you. It is very hard for me to just sit in class and listen to someone speak if I do not have notes to help me along the way. Do you have any other tips for helping a visual learner? I am always looking for new ways to help me learn the material in class.

  2. I am the same, learn best by watching and doing. What is it that draws you to math?

  3. I don't like writing notes because I write slow but like you I learn well that way. If I am just listening to someone I will zone out so easily. My ideal note taking would probably be taking the notes in class with a "guided notes" reference as the person is talking and also having access to the "guided notes" incase I miss something or didn't fully understand what I wrote down.I agree that education is a tool to explore.
