The persons story that affected me the most was Tim Brown, the firefighter. He lost his best friend in the first tower, while he was in the second tower. I feel like this impacted me the most because they were both firefighters, and since the both went into different towers caused Tim to lose his best friend. Also since Tim was there and saw the tower fall in on his best friend made a bigger impact on me. I think what affected me the most was that I put myself in his shoes while he was talking. If that was me I would never be able to go up to his wife and say he didn't make it, or do this film, so this just increased the respect I had for him. Tim said "I couldn't lie to her" when he was talking about confronting his best friends wife, which showed he knew what happened and was trying to be strong about it. Then he had to be tortured with the recordings of the people that slowly came into the station. The effect of the time-lapse in this film was that we could see the people grow and regress through the years after the attack. It showed how long it took them to move on, and the choices they made through the years. It showed physical changes through the years, what they felt that year and there thoughts on past years, and how they felt about the person they lost years later. I believe it was a strength, because it shows that a span of eight years instead of having the people think back to what they felt and what they did. If they had to think back we would not get as many details and it would not have as big of an impact. The most important thing that i took away from this was that it took them a long seven years to move on, but they never really moved on. Most people would think that it would only take a few years to move on, but it took them seven years. This is because someone they truly loved passed, and they would get a constant reminder when they saw the city. They also never fully moved on, even when their lives seemed like they were going well and that they were adjusting well, we find out that they are still morning over what happened.
I noticed the physical change too throughout the film. It seemed like even though they were aging they looked better as the film went on simply because they were happier.
