Remembering Robert Wallace
Lieutenant Robert Wallace, was a part of Brooklyn's fire department. He was on his 43rd year being a firefighter and his 21st year being a member of FDNY. He was called to the horrendous scene of the terrorist attack on the twin towers. Lt. Wallace was called in to initially attempt to organize his firefighters and civilians and put out the fires caused by the jet fuel. However when his team was unable to put the fires out because of their location, his team was sent into south tower to help evacuate civilians. the south tower collapsed at 9:50 AM killing Wallace and his team. unfortunately his body was never recovered, but this veteran of the fire department has since lived on. Robert F. Wallace was honored on the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Emmitsburg, Maryland
and
was included in the USFA’s annual report Firefighters Fatalities in the USA.

So sad that this innocent man lost his life that day fulfilling his duty and trying to save other people's lives. I am very grateful for all the great fire departments and firefighters we have in America. They take everyday sacrifices and do not think twice about putting their lives before others. So glad to know that he is honored on the firefighters memorial, his heroic actions will never be forgotten on that day.
