I learn best in my room on my desk. I have to clean the desk if its dirty and there are other things on it so I have enough room for my books and I wont get distracted. I usually get my homework accomplished at my desk and force myself to pay attention to what I'm doing instead of skimming it then when I take the test, I remember what I worked on and that's when I feel like I've learned something. The purpose of education is to fully widen your options with careers. It gives you a chance to focus on becoming a professional in what you want to do with the rest of your life. Education for my future means that I will have better opportunities to have the best life I can possibly give myself. Right now I am both skeptical and optimistic about my path because I am currently undecided for my major but I still have time to figure it out. I will make sure my path is well and focused.

I am the same way. When I do my homework i do it at my desk in my room. If it is dirty( with papers and stuff like that) I have to clean it off and get organized. Once I do that I can focus on the work at hand nd not get distracted.
ReplyDeleteJulia, working at a desk works well for me also. I wish I had a huge desk of my own to work at, unfortunately I spread everything out on my couch and go from there. I can't wait to have a big desk as a teacher so I can grade papers and make lesson plans.
ReplyDeleteI will disagree somewhat. I use to have a desk but I gave it to my sister because it feels too much like school. I don't know about you, but quite a lot of people do not like school very much. I think a desk just makes you feel like you are at school and causes you to get bored or tire much faster than if you were doing it on the couch or something.
ReplyDeleteI agree, I work so much better at a clean desk. However, I do not have one in my room but I'm trying to get my own little space set up in my basement! I feel like the biggest reason I struggled with getting homework done in high school was because I didn't have a desk to work at.
