Exploration 4

All of the stories from the movie Rebirth effected me very much but I think Tim Brown's was one of the most moving. I think his affected me the most because the emotions he had after loosing his best friend on 9/11 were very extreme. Throughout the first few years after, Brown's emotions seemed to have gotten worse and worse. Within a few years after, he was diagnosed with PTSD. He had to take medicine for it ad go to therapy. The PTSD caused his emotions to heighten and he would have very extreme anger and frustration. It effected not only himself but his friends and family, as well. He would explain how he would always thinks about him and when he went back to NY, he would always look out to the place where he saw his friend died and think about him. Tim Brown was eventually off the medicine for his PSTD and didn't have to go to therapy so it did get better for him but that was many years later. I don't think it really made him stronger or that he got over it but It helped his mourning. I think the most important thing I took away from Tim Brown's story was to never take people and friends for granted. He lost someone he was very close with and Its scary how fast it can all happen and the effects it can have on you after. You cant control your emotions and when traumatic events happen, it can leave permanent effects to your emotions.

  1. Tim Brown lost his best friend and i agree with you on the emotions. He lost his emotions and getting diagnosed with PTSD didn't help. He took medicine for PTSD but it's still not the same, It's hard to get over a loss of a best friend.

  2. I agree with you on the important thing you took away from this movie. I like to take things and life for granted. The five different stories we heard about had an impact on me. They all were affected by 9/11 but in so many different ways. The one thing they all had in common was their message to live each moment in our life to the fullest. That is what I will not forget about this neat video.
