One of the victims of the 9/11 attack was a 22 year old named Terence E. Adderley Jr. He had moved to New York for a job with an investment management firm. He worked as an research associate in the World Trade Center. He grew up with business. He followed in the footsteps of his parents and grandfather. He went to Vanderbilt University just like his grandfather. He was a prat of the Alpha Psi fraternity. He was known to have "style and verve" and went through life with confidence and lived each day like it was his last. One of his friends said that he lives life to the fullest and his generosity and intellect was important to his family and friends. Some of his family survived that day, including his parents, his 6 sisters, and grandmother. His brother died too.
I learned from him that we knew exactly what he wanted to do in life and he pushed to get it. He loved his life, family and friends, but it ended all to quickly for him.
What I took from this was he was just a kid who already had a great job doing what he loved to do and he worked so hard to get where he got but it didn't take long for it to get destroyed. I think that he could've lived his life to the fullest if he didn't rush into anything. I think people should live their life to the fullest and live like everyday is that last but don't rush into things to quickly.
That is really sad that his brother died that same day, too. Its always great to have a postive look on each day to get us through them, even when some are harder than others. Living life to the fullest is what makes life great and I'm sure Terence had a great one.
ReplyDeleteTerence seems like the type of person I had researched being only 1 year apart, and working for a research firm. This is very sad and completely unfair that these men had such great views toward them and yet they were taken out of the world so young.
ReplyDeleteWas his brother also a victim of the attacks?
ReplyDeleteHard to believe that he was only 22 when he lost his life that day and that his family not only lost Terence but also his brother, such a sad story. He seemed like the guy who set big goals for his life, and was on his way to achieving them in the cooperate world. I find myself often taking life for granted each day and this blog post has helped my realize that my life could end as quickly as it did for all the 9/11 victims. I am glad that we got the chance to research and read about all these inspiring stories!
ReplyDeleteFrom what his friends say about him, at least we know that he was living his life in the best way he knew how before he died. I can't believe that his brother passed away that day too. That family had to have gone through such a hard time.
ReplyDeleteIt's really sad to hear that he died along with his brother. I wonder if they found each other to spend a last moment together and fight together or if they had any clue what was going on during the attack.
