(+) - Connected theme of sticking together throughout "Grapes of Wraith" and the presentation
ReplyDelete(-) Nothing really Stevie just seemed less confident
Good job focusing on how the Olympics related to the Depression, rather than the games themselves. I learned that the 1932 winter olympics were held in NY, I didn't know that before. Also, that it was an effort to bring money into the deprived economy.
ReplyDeleteVery engaging as well.
Brytin:-seemed very confident
-good volume and eye contact
-knowledgeable
Stevie:-knowledgeable
-good volume
-a little too much swaying, movement etc., a little distracting
Really good and informative overall
The powerpoint was filled with good pictures. They focused on the connection between the Olympics and the Depression. The thing that I learned was that they needed the big companies to help them advertise for the event. Both people in the group presented the information and did an overall good job.
ReplyDeleteThe thing I liked most about your presentation was the fact that you tied the Olympics in with the Great Depression and how it is present in the Grapes of Wrath. It was interesting to hear how the Depression impacted the Olympics. The one thing I would suggest to work on is the organization of your presentation, I felt like it jumped around, but overall all it was an interesting presentation.
ReplyDeleteI remember hearing something about this, but never actually knew what it was so it was really interesting to learn about the whole conflict. It seemed like you knew what you were talking about. Something to work on would be relating the presentation back to its original topic, so for this relating it back to the depression.
ReplyDeleteI really liked the presentation, I did not know about the 1932 winter Olympics and now I know about it. I think a little more preparation would have helped because it seemed confusing at times. Stevie had good eye contact and did not read off the PowerPoint. Brytin also had good eye contact and I don't think he looked at his note card. I liked the pictures on the presentation.
ReplyDeleteThis presentation was well put together. I think it is interesting how competition in sports can be turned into a friendly rivalry. The Olympics is a great way to bring recognition to country's that win. It was interesting to see how we were trying to use it to boost the economy a little, but had to ask big business's to donate to be able to have the event.
ReplyDeleteI thought you guys had an interesting topic. I didnt know only a fraction of the teams played that year in the olympics. I liked the picture on your powerpoint of the countries and the medals they won in the event. One problem I noticed was that it seemed that you guys were going off on the fly. One of you even said "lets see what we said here". You should know what your going to present before you present it. No worries though because it was really good beside that.
ReplyDeleteYou guys had I hard topic to do but you definitely presented a good amount of information. I thought it was interesting when I found out that only a small amount of teams actually played in this Olympics.
ReplyDeleteGood eye contact and seemed like you were really interested about it.
ReplyDeleteStevie- You barely had to look at your notes during the presentation. That really helped you to make better eye contact.
ReplyDeleteBrytin-Your tone was very mellow, which was a good soothing effect. You also used your hands more effectively than most of the people in the class did, so kudos to you for that.
Presentation- Very educational. I knew almost nothing about the event before you guys talked about it and afterward felt like I had actually learned something. You both also got along really well, which lends itself to credibility during a presentation.
Thanks for the feedback everyone!
ReplyDeleteI think you seemed really knowledgeable and interested about what you were talking about which made me interested in it too! I didn't know the Olympics weren't federally funded and its awesome what it did for the Jewish people that wanted to be a part of the club were they held them. I thought both of you were pretty calm which was awesome but I wish you were just a little louder. I might just me hard of hearing but I think you would be better understood if spoke up just a little.
ReplyDeletePositive: The information was well researched and I could tell that because of scarcely you looked at the notes. Good job.
ReplyDeleteNegative: Both of you seemed a little too quiet, so it would have been better if you spoke up.
I think it was good that you touched on both the privatization of funds for the Olympics and how businesses used the Olympics to promote products. I think it was just lacking a good video.
ReplyDeleteGood presentation! The illistrations and information was really good but it could have been a little more orginized.but overall, I liked it and learned a lot.
ReplyDeleteYou related it to the great depression very well. You both seemed very informed and gave a lot of "side information" other that it was just the olympics. Specifically, the information about the jewish being treated differently.
