Brainstorming Topics
1) Amelia Earhart
2) 18 and 21st Amendments
3)Lake Placid Olympics - New York
Out of the 3 topics, the one I know the least about is The Lake Place Olympics that happened in New York City.
In 1932 the 3rd winter Olympics occurred, this was the first winter Olympics held in the United States.
The events occurred from February 4-15th. The Games were opened by New York Governor Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Irving Jaffee won the 5,000 m (3.1 mi.) and the 10,000 m (6.2 mi.)
The USA won the medal tally with a total of 12 medals (6 gold, 4 silver, and 2 bronze).
Seventeen countries participated.
I was unaware that The United States actually held as many as 8 Olympic games.
