  1. From this presentation I learned why Hoover did what he did with his policies. Just hearing about his presidency throughout schooling the reasons for why he did what he did lines up very well with his Quaker beliefs. Although many of his policies ended up hurting more than they helped, it still had good intentions. The presentation itself was very informative and well put together, it did not leave many, if any, unanswered questions.

  2. Great presentation. Katana didn't do much, but the information was great. I definitely learned a lot from this presentation, and i could tell you knew the topic you were doing very well.

  3. Your presentation had a lot of detail about Hoovers economic plan of the time which was a really good part of your presentation. Also the video that you showed was really good because it elaborated on the effects of the Smoot-Hawley Tariff. The Smoot-Hawley Tariff was something new I learned in your presentation, and it was interesting to learn the effects it had on the economy. Something to work on would have to be to talk slower and more clear, it was hard to understand at times.

  4. Since Juan did the talking I'll focus mostly on him. You did a great job. Everything from memorization of the facts presented to even eye contact and tone. You started off a little quiet and I could tell you were really nervous but as you went into your speech and began to delve into the facts you started warming up. By the end of your speech you could have kept on talking for at least another 2 minutes and still taught us things. Katana, you didn't give much of the speech but you were very attentive and reacted to Juan's presentation.
Although it went very well as it was, it would have been a good idea to have both partners speak during the presentation. This could have added to the presentation.

  5. This presentation shows that Hoover had truly wanted the best for the citizens of his country promoting growth through his ideas. Although his time in office may have not helped the economy much due to the depression.

I liked how you showed FDR taking some of Hoover's ideas multiple times. I would have liked to see more points and ideas perhaps taken from Hoover.

  6. (+) Clearly knew the facts and threw in a lot of fun facts which were very interesting and helped keep me on track.
(-) Katana didn't speak at all

  7. I like how they painted Hoover. It sounds like history shows Hoover as kind of an idiot, but Juan pointed out that a lot of the things he did were later repackaged as other policies by F.D.R. I also feel that aside from all the things he did that could have helped, he did more wrong just on the info i was given. For a criticism, Katana didn't speak at all, leaving it all on Juan, which is very not cool.

  8. I think the presentation was very good. I didn't know a lot about Hoover. I learned he lived in FDR's shadow, he's always looked at as a bad president but he actually started agencies like the IRS which tracked down mobsters like Al Capone. You knew the topic very well and it went very smoothly. The only part that bothered me was that Juan did all the talking.

  9. I thought that Juan knew a lot about the topic and gave us some important things to know. Kitana didn't talk but it seemed like they had done a lot of research on hoover and seemed to know everything. The only thing that i noticed was that Juan talked too fast and sometimes it was hard to understand but overall the presentation was great.

  10. I didn't know much about Hoover's affect on the depression and I found it interesting that he was so involved with the economy compared to others. Juan knew a lot about the subject and was very confident in telling it to us! I think some thing you could work on is eye contact because I didn't notice you didn't look at anybody and focused more on emty space. I don't think this really took away from your presentation that much and I thought you did a really good job!

  11. The thing I found most interesting about your presentation was the 1932 campaign. Hoover wanted the best for our country as president and it was a hard task to fulfill. Jaun I could tell that you put a lot of time and effort in to this presentation, you were very knowledgeable about this topic and provided us with a lot of good background information. The only thing I would have changed is that it was hard to read your power point slides, the pictures were interesting but hard to see with all the writing on your slides. Overall good presentation.

  12. Very Knowledgeable about your topic, and you had a lot of different view points about it which i liked to hear from each one.

  13. The presentation you gave clearly had a lot of work put into it. The facts and explanations along with the extra notes thrown in made a great presentation however it was almost too much information too fast to let it all soak in. I have always admired Roosevelt so it was interesting to learn that many of his ideas were just a repackaging of Hoover's ideas.

  14. Positive: The usage of images, video, and quotes was really well balanced and helped the audience understand the material better.
Negative: On some slides, the text was either too much or was hard to read because of the background.

  15. Juan seemed very knowledgeable about the subject, and connected well with the audience. Displayed good presentation skills with volume, eye-contact, and stature. The video was also helpful and informative. I learned that FDR had essentially repackaged many of Hoover's plans to help the economy. For criticism, the presentation was pretty hard to read with the backgrounds and it would be better to not use Times New Roman text. Also, I was very impressed with the information, but not sure what the point was or how it could relate to today, but I might have just missed that part. Maybe how Hoover impacted the Depression? Lastly, Katana did not speak and really loaded the work on Juan, which is not good teamwork. Nice job overall though and way to take control Juan.

  16. One fact that stood out to me from your presentation, Juan, was that FDR just repackaged most of what Hoover was trying to do. I think that Hoover wasn't all bad, he just needed time, and maybe he was just the wrong president at the wrong time. Juan, you were very factual and knew a lot about President Hoover and his policies during that time. The video you had was excellent in explaining the Smoot-Holly act. The only problem I could see with your presentation was too wordy of powerpoints and wrong choice of color for your text. In the end your presentation was one of the better ones i have seen in our class.

  18. Juan, you were great. You really became an expert on Hoover, I liked how you added that Roosevelt took Hoovers good ideas and made them better, it made Hoover look like a much better President, even though he was basically hated curing his presidency. Katana, I would have liked to see you present some information to us, or answer some questions. Don't be nervous about presenting to the class. Overall, really informing presentation from Juan.

  19. I think Juan did a great job on this presentation all in all. He seemed nervous at first and talked quietly but shortly in to it he warmed up and was very clear from them on. He presented the information great, taught me things I did not know about Ex-Pres. Hoover, and answered the questions well. I think you were very fair in your portrayal of him and shed new light on his presidency.
The only thing that could have made this group presentation better would be to have all members of the group participate. It seemed to me Juan did the project himself.

  20. I specifically liked the video because it explained smoot hawley, which I had no idea about. It tied in great with Hoover and the depression. Juan did very well talking about the subject, I would have liked to hear some of the information from katana. I think it would have added to the presentation.

  21. The negatives I found in your presentation were you could have spoke up a little louder and Katana could have spoke as well ( I'm not sure if there was a specific reason she didn't). The positives I found were you have very good background information on domestic works and foreign affairs, you had a lot of knowledge and didn't just read off the notecard/slides, you gave a different view of Hoover instead of how everyone disliked him during this timeframe. I also liked how you related Hoover to recent Presidents. Great Job!
