You both had your parts very well memorized; there were a lot of facts that you didn't have on the slides. That was goo because it let you connect with us better. The presentation was well put together and I learned a lot. I don't know how I never knew that she went missing and was never found. That was really educational and I think I came up with several conspiracy theories while I was listening. The whole presentation was well put together and executed.
ReplyDeleteI find it interesting that Amelia did not always have a love for planes, when she was little she found nothing significant about them, but later went on to do amazing things as a pilot. Becoming a female pilot was something rare in her time period and you did a very good job at emphasizing all her records and accomplishments she completed. One thing that I would recommend that you improve is to be louder when you speak and interact with the audience with eye contact and less slides so are focus is on you as the speaker and the knowledge you learned from your research.
ReplyDeleteI thought your presentation was really well done, with a lot of facts pertaining to her life. Also adding your view I believe makes the presentation better, like when you said her dad paid for her to go up in the plane. I learned a lot from your presentation but the most significant thing i learned would have to be that she did not fly across the Atlantic alone the first time, and something to work on would have to be to make eye contact, not just looking at the screen the majority of the time.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the presentation, it was well put together, the only information that I felt that was left out was answered by a question, which was what changed her mind about wanting to be a pilot. Beyond that, I enjoyed the list of the various accomplishments and events within her life.
ReplyDelete(+) - Lots of pictures that helped illustrate ideas, I really like your conclusion where you told us what we should take from this
ReplyDelete(-) - Some minor issues with the power point that affected presentation (Wrong birth date)
This group had loads of great information on Amelia Earhart. I feel like i learned a lot. I especially like how the had found and used a picture of her pilots license. I really don't think there was much to critique on except the shorter Emily seemed a bit nervous during her section of the presentation.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I knew Amelia was one of the first women to fly a plane I didn't know she had such a feminist view on life and was such a big influence on the women of her time. I really like how you guys ended it by telling us to do what we loved because I think that its a really positive message to take away from her story. I think you both seemed nervous and read off of the power point and note cards but I still think overall you did a really good job!!
ReplyDeleteI Think you guys did well. The information you presented was very interesting and i actually learned something from the slides. you guys did well on memorizing the material.
ReplyDeleteI really liked the quotes that you had on there, it really explained what type of person Emelia was. I did not know that the government spend millions of dollars and they searched over 250,000 square miles of ocean. The pictures were a nice addition to the presentation. The eye contact was the only thing that I noticed.
ReplyDeleteThe presentation given was well put together. It was clear that both of you were well rehearsed. I learned quite about that I had not known about Amilia Earhart like all the records she held as one of the first female aviators.
ReplyDeleteI do believe that you two knew about your subject, and even though that is true I think you seemed a little nervous when presenting.
ReplyDeleteYour presentation is well put together, and showed how going 100% after the thing you love can create an admirable presentation of your life. It would have maybe helped your presentation if you had put in specific quotes about Amelia, from her trainer's or friends.
ReplyDeleteI learned that Amelia was a big sponsor for cigarettes and had a clothing line. Also, I learned that she was not interested in planes and flying her whole life. The presentation was visually appealing, but would be better without using Times New Roman. You both used good volume and eye contact. Good job on mentioning how we can apply this today. Overall, well done.
ReplyDeleteI thought that the info that you girls gave was very interesting and good. I didn't know almost anything about Amelia Earhart, and now that you too presented, i feel like i do. Some of the information was scattered, but other than that it was a job well done.
ReplyDeleteThe presentation was done very well. You guys gave us some great information. I especially the fun fact about her not wanting to be a pilot and not liking planes. I also like the picture you guys had of her flight path of her final flight around the equator. however I felt like the presentation was unprofessional at times. It seemed like you guys didn't know what each slide was going to have on it. Overall the presentation was a sound one.
ReplyDeletePositive: The presentation was very well done and it seemed like information was well researched and memorized.
ReplyDeleteNegative: It might have been nervousness but there was a bit of stuttering and extended pausing.
The presentation was very well done and very informative. I learned that she became an icon for different things other than aviation such as Lucky Strike cigarettes and that she had a clothing line. I really liked how you guys connected it with today about how you should do what you love.
ReplyDeleteI liked the presentation a lot. I think the presenters did well on educating the audience and i think it was funny how, for her 2nd marriage, the guy proposed 7 times before she said yes. I think what could have made the presentation better is less fact listing and more talking in depth about her.
ReplyDeleteFor starters, I think you two did a good job gathering your information. I did learn a lot about Emilia. Although listening to it, I had to put the pieces together in the beginning. But once you found your place it was better. I thought I knew about her but I didn't expect her to have so much balls. You had a good cover of her whole life...and death so good job on the info
ReplyDeleteI liked how much you connected her to the sexist views of the time. I didn't know she had a clothing line, i liked that you included the fact about her wearing mostly pants with that. I think you put you presentation together very well.
ReplyDeleteI thought you two gave a very good presentation! I really enjoyed learning about the statistics about how much it cost for her search. You gave good background information, spoke up loud enough to hear, and both of you knew the information without cards. In the beginning you had some side bar conversation but other than that you pulled it together and gave an outstanding presentation.
