When You're Told To Go, You Gotta Go

"If he needs a million acres to make him feel rich, seems to me he needs it 'cause he feels awful poor inside hisself, and if he's poor in hisself, there ain't no million acres gonna make him feel rich, an' maybe he's disappointed that nothin' he can do 'll make him feel rich."  I chose this quote because it shows what the Joads are heading into.  The Joads are nervous about California but they do not really have any other choice.  The Joads are going to have to deal with arrogant farmers that only care about making a profit, and do not give a damn about the hardships of an 'okies' life.  The Joads keep trucking on and are determined to get jobs in California despite what the people say about it.
