Exploration 8

I felt the ending was very weird, yet I felt like it was necessarily.  This action that Rose of Sharon did showed the truth of the family.  It showed that even in the midst of complete hell they are willing to do anything to help the fellow man, even if it is as embarrassing as letting a grown man suckle on the breast of a milking lady.  It left me with a feeling of hopelessness, because the Joads have come so far and done so many good things but it all fails and nothing good happens because if it. I felt like the smile was there to say that the family feels good for what they did, it shows the true kindness Rose of Sharon felt in doing what she did.

I don't see much of a future with the Joads.  They have lost loved ones and have been on the toughest journey of their life.  I think the family is tired of traveling to find little or no work.  I feel that they don't want to go on more.  It makes sense seeing how the more they travel the worse it gets who would want to go on.  The family cares more about being a family and being together instead of striving for a better life.  I predict that the family is going to give up all hope and die, its kind of vulgar but that last scene showed how nothing good happens to good people and the Joads are good people.
