The essay "The Idea of a Local Economy" was a very interesting essay about how our economy is destroying the environment and what we can think about doing to solve the issue.  I found it interesting that he was blaming large corporations for the environmental devastation. It makes sense when you think about it because corporations have one thing on there mind, to make money.  It made me angry when i found out that the government treats corporations like a person, even though a corporation is made up of mass amounts of people.  After reading this essay i am going to try and live a more environmentally conscious life because I realized we the people are the only ones that can help because a corporation doesn't care at all.

The Nobel prize essay that i read was called "A Planetary Emergency".  It was written by Al Gore and its about climate change and its effect on our world.  He is saying that the temperature of our planet is consistently rising and that we need to change the way we do things in order to save our planet.  I very much enjoyed this essay because he explained what was happening to the planet in a way that the general population can comprehend not scientists, and that makes it easier to react and to change in order to conserve the planet.
