final exploration
Berry seems to be very passionate about his views on corporations. He seems very displeased with how corporations are exhausting our environment and how they try to control the people by making them rely on their goods. Personally, I think Berry makes some good points, and I agree that ideally communities could sustain themselves without the use of corporations. However, this isn't really a new ideology, and in the end this is probably not going to happen because corporations give people jobs and make life easier and more convenient, a luxury people will not easily give up.

I somewhat agree with you. Corporations definitely give people the convenience factor and jobs but if the majority of the population would give local economy a chance, it may be able to eventually provide for it's communities as well.
ReplyDeleteCorporations do have a major impact on our environment. I also think that local economies have been growing in the last 10 or so years. We are beginning to see the effect pollution is have on our environment and there is so a lot of research going on that "we are what we eat" and supporting our local economies by eating home-grown fruits and veggies. I am very interested to see if our local economies will continue or begin to prosper.
